Declaration of Purpose & Ethical Use
Technology is not neutral; it is an amplifier. voces.ch was built to amplify the voices of those fighting for a more equitable, just, and inclusive world.
We believe in the fundamental equality of all people and the urgent need to dismantle systems of oppression, discrimination, and hate. This software is a tool for grassroots mobilization, meant to empower marginalized communities, protect human rights, and foster radical solidarity.
Our Core Values
When you use voces.ch, you are aligning with a specific vision of digital campaigning:
- Radical Solidarity: We build platforms to lift people up. This tool is designed to support campaigns that advocate for human rights, feminist principles, ecological justice, and systemic equality.
- Data Sovereignty: We reject the commodification of supporters. Data must be used to empower movements, not to build exploitative profiles or feed commercial algorithms.
- Democratic Participation: We believe in lowering the barrier to entry for civic engagement, giving smaller NGOs and grassroots activists the same technical power as well-funded, established institutions.
The Red Lines
By design, this project is explicitly anti-fascist, anti-queerhobic, anti-racist, and anti-discriminatory. We recognize that open technology can be weaponized, and we draw a hard line against that weaponization.
This tool is not for you if your campaign seeks to:
- Promote hate speech, hostility, or violence against marginalized or vulnerable groups.
- Advocate for systemic oppression, xenophobia, queer- and explicitly transphobia, anti-feminism or extreme right-wing ideologies.
- Divide communities or "punch down" at those with less institutional power.
The Community Covenant
Grassroots networks rely heavily on trust, shared values, and community vigilance. We do not employ automated policing or invasive surveillance of the campaigns run on this software. Instead, we rely on a community covenant.
By utilizing this codebase, you enter into a binding agreement to use this technology in the pursuit of collective liberation. If you witness this software being deployed maliciously or in violation of these principles within the campaign sphere, we encourage you to speak up, expose the abuse, and hold those actors accountable – if you see it, please let us know at info@voces.ch. We reserve the right to revoke licensing privileges for any entity found weaponizing this platform against these core tenets.
